At the Christmas tree farm and the new bike path...

So we've already picked out a Christmas tree for December and the new bike path is so very close to completion. I'm not sure there is much more to do until January. Actually picking out the Christmas tree is something we do every year, usually as a family but with five people, all employed, all with friends, and naturally all with different agendas, it was up to my mom and I to make sure we had a tree worthy of a welcome in our home. Usually the criteria is simple, tall and well rounded. Not exactly the kind of things you think you'd want on something coming into your home. However for a tree, its a fun sight with the various colored lights tucked tightly in the branches, the random decorations that literally spans decades of our lives delicately placed on intermingled extensions of the tree, all make for a wonderful sight. In the photo left my mom and I are searching the aisles of trees for Mr. Right.

The tree farm resides in a beautiful valley.

No, this is not a back road in Belgium, its actually a bike path but it literally is the size of a country road in Belgium. America is all about big remember? This is an extension of an existing path and adds another 5 or 6k to the loop. The river to the right is called the Susquehanna River. The river was used during the lumber boom that began in our town in 1883. It was used to float all the timber down to the processing mills. There was a point when all the hills in these area were stripped bare, luckily its all been replanted and the area no longer looks like a tornado ripped through it.
