catching up!

Ok, So, lots of catching up to do with the blog. A fews days without my computer and figuring out my new phone has left me with more work :) Before I start posting all kinds of photos from Belgie (aka Belgium) I want to post a few pics from London and my attempt at become a creative film director. I think the picture to the left is Knightsbridge Street in London. I'm so bummed I didn't get to TA London :( I don't know what is about this expression but it will stick with me for the rest of my life :) This video is a quick minute or so of my train ride from Victoria Station to Gatwick airport. The train ride was longer than a minute but I don't want to bore my readers. As I was taking the video I had a reminder of the movie called "Train Spotting." At somepoint in the movie, I think the very beginning a young Ewen McGregor finds himself in the worlds worst toilet in London (I think it was London). So glad I can't relate too much more to that experience

Rest Day: In Brugge

So today was my "rest day" anotherwords no cycling, just relaxing and eating. It's nice to have one day where you don't have to worry about riding your bike or racing and usually after a hard weekend of racing Monday is the perfect day to relax. Today Marie Josee (Nico's mom) took me to Brugge for the day. We also headed to the coast and got to take a look at the North Sea. Belgium is small and getting around from city to city is fairly quick, even with a little traffic it is only about 45 minutes or so. Naturally the first thing you must do is find parking in a city and in Bruges it is no different. Unless of course you happen to find a free parking lot within walking distance to the market square (markt) like we did. Even if you don't find free parking its pretty easy to find a place. The way in which you pay is also quite unique. Simply send a text (or "sms" as they say here) to the number on the parking meter and voila! You get a printout

I've found a program for graduate school that I think would really suit me well. The program is at the University of Groningen and is a two year, research masters program in organization, production and economics. Application deadline is 1 January, time to get going. I've come down with some sort of cold/flu. I'm not saying it is the N1H1 but the degree to which the back of my throat hurts as compared to previous experiences with flu's is highly suggestive to a disease I've never had before. I was performing a little research last night and found the name of the flu "H1N1" is derived from the type and number of proteins found in the virus. Now, I'm not saying I have the so called "swine flu" but my throat is a wreck. I was coughing so hard last night I thought I was going to throw up. At one point breat
